Earth-friendly and socially responsible since day one.

Our company was founded on the ideals of respect for art & artisans and the use of nature’s materials. So not surprisingly, we are in step with the rising public concern over the effects that modern products and production methods have on our world.

'Sustainable' products are those that are characterized as having ecological, social and economic benefits which contribute to the protection of public health, welfare, and the environment. We proudly proclaim the following points based on universally recognized criteria for assessing a product or company's overall impact.

• Made by hand in the USA, without the use of machinery.

• Made in a naturally lit, energy-efficient studio.

• Free of toxic compounds, and production does not result in toxic by-products or emissions of any kind.

• Paste free: Pre-pasted papers emit high levels of VOC- volatile organic compounds, indoor air contaminants.

• Non-vinyl. Made on primarily post-consumer recycled poly/cellulose fiber (a renewable resource.)

• Made with water-borne paints, plasters and varnishes which are lower in VOC than oil/solventborne types.

• Permeable, which inhibits the growth of mold, an MVOC (microbial volatile organic compound.)

• Studio E wallpaper can install with eco-friendly pastes.

• Highly durable, with low maintenance requirements. No chemicals are required for de-installation, only water.

• Produced solely to order and supplies are purchased accordingly.

• Studio E's in-house recycling/remixing program uses every last drop of paint resulting in almost no paint waste.

• Studio E obtains materials locally whenever possible.

We benefit our local and global communities, by contributing surplus wallpaper to charitable causes with socially responsible agendas. For more information visit www.artworksforyouth.com, www.housingworks.org, www.alphaworkshops.org .

Additionally, we promote a positive message for humankind by ardently supporting the International Rescue Committee* (IRC.) We offer training and employment to those from areas of strife, who seek refuge in the USA. Our production team members made up entirely of IRC recruits, have all benefited with long-term job security providing them with a higher quality of life for themselves and for their families back home.
